2023 CELEBRATES THE 200TH BIRTHDAY OF THE CHAMPLAIN CANAL!

SEPTEMBER 8, 9, 10  TUGBOAT ROUNDUP WATERFORD HARBOR

  • Waterford Tugboat Roundup

The Tugboat Roundup is a gathering of tugboats, workboats and barges to celebrate the maritime heritage of the Northeast Inland Waterways. The festival features a tug parade, tug tours, boat rides, tug talks, competitions, fireworks, children’s activities, vendors, food, and more. The Tugboat Roundup takes place annually the weekend after Labor Day.

SEPTEMBER 10 ADIRONDACK ULTRA CYCLING SCHUYLERVILLE

  • Champlain Canalway 125: 200 KM on the 200th Anniversary

This ride is a very challenging out and back to both ends of the Champlain Canalway Trail. The CCT runs between Waterford in the south and Whitehall in the north. Schuylerville is located a little south of the halfway point. This ride will have a significant amount of gravel and dirt, and gravel specific bikes are highly recommended.

OCTOBER 14  CANAL STREET MARKETPLACE, FORT EDWARD

  • Locktoberfest Fort Edward

Celebrate the autumn harvest and the Champlain Canal Bicentennial on the grounds of the Canal Street Marketplace, a renovated nineteenth century canal barn. The festival features regional farm and artisan products, educational booths, fabulous food, free horse and wagon rides, a local beer tasting tent, and live music.
